BlackBerry vs iPhone

BlackBerry vs. iPhone

Both companies (RIM & Apple) seem to have their own independent business models – since iPhone came out the entire phone industry changed by replicating what Apple brings out on the market. In the same time many businesses are being managed on BlackBerry handsets – so where’s the trick?

Just a few years ago Nokia had it’s own E-series unbeatable selection of business-ready hardware, it was pretty difficult to pass that marketing awareness created by the giant brand but in the background BlackBerry was used within lots of companies starting one of the main popular models – the BB 5790 monochrome version.

Within this period at some point the iPhone was launched and within short time the HTCs started to focus on improving their very poor touchscreens and then just over night all the brands developed touchscreen-based headsets. What happen to the 8800 style? Where’s the flip-style?

BlackBerry did released a few touchscreen mobile versions, but just as we all know it is still focused on the little old keyboard – which I personally believe it became part if the RIM visual identity, kind of a patent.

Googling for advantages and disadvantages between the BlackBerry and the iPhone will not help you because the opinions are spitted almost equally.

I would say that from my poing of view both are useful and the best way to solve the dispute is by pushing everything which is business-related / mission-critical on the BB headset and to enjoy any other mobile-related feature on the iPhone – that’s what I do.
